BONE MARROW

Product Overview

  • Collection Methods

Using an IRB approved protocol, bone marrow is collected by licensed medical providers in a licensed outpatient surgery center. Marrow is harvested from the iliac crest while the donor is under conscious sedation.

Bone marrow is collected in heparinized syringes and transported to the laboratory. Under a certified laminar flow hood, the syringes are pooled into a single bag and aliquoted into sample volumes requested by clients.

  • Product Volumes

Products are available as 50mL, 100mL or 200mL aliquots from a single donor. Smaller sizes may be available if requested.

  • Eligibility Determination

Donors are screened according to 21CFR 1271.75 using the questions found on the AABB uniform donor history questionnaire for cell therapy donors.

Additional questions can be added to a supplemental screening tool upon request.
